Max Hawk (1961-2009) was diagnosed with terminal melanoma cancer in early 2008. After months of ill health, events finally culminated in neurosurgery to remove a large tumour from his brain. Doctors gave him less than six months to live, and life as we knew it changed. We were fortunate to be given the chance to live out our remaining time together in rural Northern New South Wales surrounded by nature and over the next eight months we made many recordings. As I listen to them now I realise the importance and enormity of the work we created together. I fills me up and breaks my heart at the same time.

I have made this selection based on both the quality of the recordings as well as the poignancy of the songs, bearing in mind that post surgery, Hawk, at times, struggled with physical and mental coordination. There are many tracks that I haven't included but I think this double CD will give a sense of the depth of emotion that Hawk held for music and for life.

Hawk showed great courage in both life and death. He is deeply missed as we celebrate his memory, and his music flows through the bones of us all.

This is an archival digital album. Hard copy is no longer available. The tracks are presented as they were originally composed and recorded with no remastering. POST I & II was a run of 30 CD's and was a commemorative album for family and friends.
